Problem & Summary
There is a lack of visibility of halal products coming from Malaysia to China.
Currently there are no way of tracing the source of food from the farm or supplier to the end retailers thus it is hard to know where does it come from apart from the information in the packaging.
Consumer only can rely on the packaging information without having the flexibility to really trace the origin of the foods.
HDC(Halal Development Corporation Berhad) is looking for a solution to track the halal food from one point to another, especially shipments to China.
Objective
A traceability system is needed to track halal sources in the food supply chain. This will give better visibility from producer to manufacturer, from manufacturer to logistic and finally retail. Tracking is done in every stages or movement in the supply chain.
The system will need to be secured and data need to be immutable or untampered.
